Dear R,

On All Saint’s Day, Friday before last, I drove my parent’s black tilty SUV from Maine to Montreal. It was a punished tree punctuated odyssey, aftermathing a night of relentless winds that unsealed closed windows and fingered the last of leaves off their deciduous branches.
